KYLE Auto Repair
Another 5 stars for Jonathan and his crew at M.E. Automotive (formerly known as Hilltop automotive) Yesterday, I'm at work when my wife sends me a pic of what appears to be our suv suffering from a blown radiator. Panic mode kicks in because I'm thinking my wife and kids are stranded. Luckily they were at home. I call Jonathan and without hesitation, he calls a tow truck to head to my home and pick up my wife's suv. Jonathan and his crew inspect the suv and quickly provide me the details of what is wrong. Due to issues out of his control, he has to overnight the part that failed due to old age. (SUV is 10 years old) Picked up my wife's SUV today and all was fixed. Price was extremely fair and Jonathan had wiped the tow and diagnostic fee from the final price tag. I can not thank Jonathan and his crew enough. They do an amazing job and continuously impress me. Keep up the darn good job guys!!! Comment from Jonathan P. of M.E. Automotive Repair Business Manager 3/22/2017Thank you Domingo you know how we do it. Read more These guys don't disappoint. Went here again today. Once again, was greeted by Jonathan. 4 months since I had been here, and he knew me by name. Wow!! Needed brakes on my wife's Explorer this time. His crew quickly inspected her car and was given a fair quote for rear pads and rotors. When it was time to pay, I was greeted by Oscar. Another great guy. Then I was presented the final price tag. $80 cheaper then I had been quoted. AWESOME!!!! Will definitely keep going to these guys!!!! When all else fails, go to Yelp for advise. That is what I did to find my 3rd mechanic, and hopefully my last. Here is my story: I own a 2005 Honda Civic. I bought it used in 2008 and it has done me well. I now have 128k on the odometer. Honda is known for making cars that take a licking and keep on ticking. Back in 11.14, I took my Honda to my previous mechanic for a brake job. Told him that something sounded loose on the front right portion of the engine. Mechanic said he would take a look at it when they were done with the brakes. Later that day, mechanic calls me and says that my motor requires an engine rebuild at about a cost of 3k. Mechanic says that a bearing within the piston was loose and was causing the rattle. I asked the mechanic how he came to his conclusion without opening the engine. He stated that he removed coils 1 & 2 and could hear the rattle. I'm not a mechanic so I trusted in him and took his word. Figuring that my Honda had bought the farm, I decided to park it and get me another car. Was not happy about getting into debt all over again, but figured I had no other choice. Due to current Cancer treatments on my son, I was never able to take my Honda to be sold. Fast forward to 01.27.15. I was home for a week from Houston due to my boy being between treatments. Looked on Yelp and found Hill Top automotive. Decided to take my Honda for a second opinion. Was greeted by Jonathan and explained to him what was going on. I left my car there for the day and waited for a phone call. At the end of business day, Jonathan called me and said that they had taken a brief look at my car, but that from what they could quickly gather, it sounded like the rattle was coming from the timing belt / water pump area, but would need more time to make sure. The next day, Jonathan calls me again and confirms that the tensioners on the timing belt had come loose, thus causing the rattle. Jonathan advises that the timing belt and the water pump need to be replaced at a cost of 599.19. I ask Jonathan if he is certain about this due to the previous diagnosis given to me by my previous mechanic. Jonathan laughed and said that my Honda did not require an engine rebuild, and that he was very certain that the issue was in fact what he was describing to me. Jonathan and his crew fixed my car and it is running smooth. I can not thank Hill top automotive enough for having found the true problem of my car. They have definately earned themselves a new customer. As for my previous mechanic, F-off for having made me get into debt with a new car payment and for being totally wrong on your diagnosis.
